Whats Next?

1) After interviewing these three customers, I found that in the existing market there is still a need that my venture concept hasn't met. Some customers wanted fresher food, and also complained about the variety of the food as well. Along with this, some complained about the way the food is prepared.

The complaints of the existing market have been met with my current venture concept. Interviewing this existing market is definitely helpful in growing and planning for what is next for my business.

2) The new market I targeted was students who currently do not have a meal plan. When asking those customers what they want out of a meal plan, I gained a lot of ideas that could help my business. Some wanted delivery and also wanted to be able to order their food.

These students who do not have a meal plan were asking for things that were not exactly feasible. The idea of ordering food beforehand might be an option we can adjust to. I feel that if more people were requesting this type of service then it might be a good way to get this new market of people interested more in my business.

  1. Hello Andrew,

I enjoyed reading through your post as well as your video interviews. I did think that it was interesting that those without a meal plan sought out new options in a plan that would certainly increase costs dramatically. As you mentioned in your post, it does not seem like that would be feasible. In my post, I also spoke about that fact that some of the recommendations that I received would likely negatively impact my concept, rather than help it. While it was good to consider these options, in the end, my current concept's viability was only further reaffirmed (in my mind, that is).

  2. Hi Andrew,
First of all, I thought that you had really good questions for your “customers”. Good job!
I agree with your second and third interviewees. I really wish that there was more variety overall and more choice with how much meal plan you get.
I really like what you found out from your second round of interviews. I agree with you that delivery might not be that feasible, but made-to-order might be.
I did not make a post for this assignment, but feel free to see my blog: http://kwallaceent.blogspot.com/
    Good job!

I definitely agree with a few of your interviewees that I wish there was a better variety with the meal plans. This is an interesting idea that could definitely take off! great job.

  4. Andrew,
Great job going out and getting the interviews done. I like how you continued to find the complaints. You need to figure out how your particular business idea can improve by finding out all the complaints the target market has about the current status of the market. Figure out ways to improve it and your product to make sure these complaints are met. Your target market is smart for a college town. Food is a big deal with college kids and targeting college students to try and improve the food quality around campuses could be big.

  5. Hey Andrew,

unfortunately, I haven't looked into the meal plans provided by the school, so I don't have any complaints. However, it seems like there's a general dissatisfaction with the lack of variety and freshness. Your interviews provided a lot of insight to this business opportunity; I can tell that there is an unmet need that you're tackling.

    Great job!

  6. I really enjoyed your blog post. I thought it was really interesting how you went about doing your interviews. One thing that really stood out to me is how authentic the feedback you received seemed to be. I think you have a really cool concept and I can't wait to see you polish it up. I think it has a lot of potential for growth.
