Free Money
I went to Library West and stood outside of the library and approached people as they headed to the library or walked past it. I approached people who were busy and also tried to target those drinking coffee. To start conversations I basically said hey and walked up to them and they usually followed through with the conversation. Since Dunkin' Donuts has $1 coffee I proposed that they take the dollar and go buy coffee with it.
I thought this exercise was interesting and I don't think I got the point of the assignment. I thought it was surprisingly harder to give away the dollars so my prediction was incorrect. I am not really sure why, but I guess because some people don't like just taking money or think it is a prank. I thought everyone would want a dollar so I guess I was wrong about that.

Andrew,
ReplyDeleteI loved watching this! I felt like it was comedy. I, too, found that it was much harder to get people to accept the money, and some people even became uncomfortable at the thought of having to receive the dollar! Weird, huh?!... Hey Andrew, I really enjoyed watching your videos. I liked how you went to an area that had a lot of people around and try to target those that were busy or drinking coffee. We came to the same conclusion, that this exercise was harder than expected. Like you said most people might have thought it was a prank and that’s why they did not take the dollar. Here is the link to my blog, feel free to check it out
